Jan 2026: don't worry about me

don't worry about me
I'm falling again
and again
dont't worry about me
succumbing to the year's ending
stacks pile up and I relish in
each rhythmic shut-slamming of books and laptops
sending out gusts of wind and
I fall back but stick out my tongue
to put
a little neatly cut square
of paper on the tip
in the hopes on day I'll stop tripping over my words
having absorbed each one out of each book-
"you've"
"been"
"here"
"before"
pulling each little fiber through my veins
